The Misbourne School
Development of a new teaching building to provide classrooms, sixth form accommodation, a multi-purpose space and an extended dining hall to replace 6No life expired temporary classrooms and to meet the curriculum requirements for the school. Following an extensive feasibility process, which investigated three possible locations for the new building, it was agreed that the building would be constructed as an infill between the existing main hall and dining hall, replacing a two storey building with limited educational use.
The building is a stepped two storey structure with a central three storey staircase and transition lift, responding to the terraced nature of the site, improving pupil flow between external spaces and accessibility for mobility impaired pupils.
